I know what your thinking… Coffee in Vegas? Is she kidding? Exactly what does coffee in Las Vegas Nevada have to do with coffee in the Triad ? Well, not much other than I was there, had a great cup or twelve and wanted to share it with you from wherever I might roam!
On the 10th floor of the Venetian Hotel is a GREAT little secret find for breakfast called Bouchon Bistro. (Thanks Pierina for the suggestion… I ended up there on three different morning occasions!) It’s a quant style french bistro over looking a secluded pool with indoor/outdoor dining. They serve light and heavy breakfast/brunch style french food including a wide variety of fresh baked pastries.
Oh, and now to the good stuff… the Coffee. And not just any coffee, but a Bouchon Caramel Latte. It’s not often you get such a fabulous drink in a clear glass mug to see the greatness of what’s inside. The layers of espresso, cream and carmel, topped with foam was a perfect combination. No added sugar needed or any other fancy stuff like my usual extra shot of espresso… it was just right. I might even have to challenge our coffee shops at home to try and make one just for our Seekers!!!
In the end, I had several cups of coffee throughout Vegas (I had to have several to keep up with that Crazy town!). From an extra strong espresso at Illy in the Palazzo to my cappuccino dark chocolate swirl gelato in Caesars Palace (way overpriced for the tiny scoop of goods), I tried them all. At least all I could handle in a week. Bouchon Bistro stood out to me, not because of the several cups I enjoyed on more than one trip or the unbelievably yummy food… but because it felt more like being back in NC. How odd to find such a place on the 10th floor of a hotel in Vegas!
But not to worry, I am back in Greensboro, North Carolina and ready to hit the coffee trail again! Here in the best place I know to grab a cup-o-joe, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the south! Even if it means I have to keep my dreams of winning BIG at the slots and trying to find Elvis till another trip comes my way to Viva Las Vegas.
