Has Breast Cancer affected you? Someone you love? Chances are you have experienced it, or a loved one has. SEEK is very passionate about this topic this month. Trish and I have experienced this disease first hand through the loss of her beloved Aunt Patsy and I (MJ) have had 2 generations of women fight it and beat it, my mother and grandmother.
We would like to honor all the women in your lives who have fought this battle. Please take a few moments to share any heart felt thoughts about Breast Cancer and and the people it has touched in your life. To do so, just hit the comment button at the end of this post. I hope that your comments can encourage others who are facing their own trials in life.
The Problem: BREAST CANCER
*Over 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year
*In women ages 15 to 40 breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death
*Currently, most breast cancers have been growing in the body 5 to 8 years before they can be felt or detected with current methods and technology
*Although Caucasian women have the highest incidence of breast cancer, African-American women have the highest death rate from breast cancer and have a higher risk of breast cancer between ages 25 and 40
*Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in Latinos.
The Solution: Earlier Detection of Breast Cancer
*Pre-tumor detection could change the prognosis and survival rates for many breast cancers
*Earlier Detection woudl prevent invasive surgery, treatment and dramatically increase survival chances
Friends For An Earlier Breast Cancer Test is the ONLY breast cancer organization focused solely on finding a biological earlier detection test for breast cancer.
Friends has already provided over 2 million dollars to researchers throughout the world.
We are fighting for the women and men that don’t know they have breast cancer.
THE TIME IS NOW. THE OPPORTUNITY IS HERE. THE CHOICE IS OURS.
