As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are planning to make a difference by promoting, participating, and even hosting our own event this month.
It is a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts. MJ’s grandmother and mother are both breast cancer survivors , and Trish’s aunt had breast cancer before passing away almost a year ago. Since one in eight women or 12.6% of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime, chances are you know someone who is affected too!!!
One of the first events in Greensboro is the Women’s Only 5K Walk and Run hosted by Women’s Hospital of Greensboro.

The Women’s Education Center at The Women’s Hospital of Greensboro

Onsite registration – 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Girls’ Only Mini-Walk & Run – 8:15 a.m.
Women’s Only Warm-ups with Jazzercise – 8:30 a.m.
Women’s Only 5K Walk & Run – 9:30 a.m.
Awards Ceremony – 10:30 a.m.
MJ is all registered and ready to walk with her sweet mommy. They will be walking for their dear friend Joy, who is a two time survivor of breast cancer. Join her and register online here!

Today I am wearing pink in honor and memory of all the wonderful women I’ve had the priviledge of knowing who have fought this disease. I can’t wait for November 1 to be a part of this innagaural event.
I’ve already started attending some events to support breast cancer awareness & is VERY excited about the Nov 1st event…I’ve got the inside hook-up on facebook!
