Are you looking for a fabulous place to have breakfast in the Triad? Smith Street Diner is quietly placed in downtown Greensboro at 438 Battleground Ave. When you walk through the doors, you get what you’re looking for in a dinner, good food, good service and good atmosphere! They have a variety of goodies to suit your taste, belly and budget. And at SSD, size does matter: you’ll find “Cat-Head” biscuits (meaning big as the plate they are served on), buttermilk pancakes (we dare you to eat all three) and “All You Can Eat” cereal with milk and bananas (we thought this was a nice added touch).

Nothing like fresh squeezed OJ!!!

Nothing like fresh squeezed oj!!!

Another thing we love at Smith’s is the fact you can order something devilishly tasty and filling or you can order healthy alternatives which fill the “tasty-meter” palate as well. Do note the picture above of the fresh squeezed orange juice!!! The machine works when ordered and what better accompaniment to your breakfast? They offer all the great sides you can think of and can scramble a mean omelet if you are really hungry! Smith’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Trust us on this, you won’t be disappointed! Oh and did we mention… they have a great cup of coffee, too (for those of you who miss Coffee Crawl with T~)

Yummy Goodness!

SO… maybe we haven’t tried the lunch and dinner, but there is a sneaky suspicion, we might “pop” back in to give it a whirl! Owner and operator, Beth Kizhnerman, even came by and happened to sit down at the table next to us. She was very welcoming and appreciative of us as customers. The welcoming feel you’ll get with your waitress and service is worth it’s weight in pancake gold! Oh yeah, one more secret: Smith Street Diner’s owner, Beth K., also owns Bistro Sophia on Dolly Madison… a worthy destination. Maybe Beth will like Seek the Triad so much we can feature Bistro Sophia and their “keep it local” idea!
