My favorite art memory is when my mom just got out a bunch of random stuff (including L’EGGS pantyhose eggs!) to use to make art. That was so much fun for me. I also LOVED getting a new box of 64 crayons with a built-in sharpener. That rocked. :)

I distinctly remember when Miss Gollub taught us printmaking with the styrofoam trays that come under poultry and hamburger, in first grade. She unveiled the magic of learning to reverse text by hanging your paper on a sunny window and tracing, and the heavenly creamy consistency of real acrylic paint squeezed from a tube. I have done this project with my own brood of children several times to make holiday cards, and everytime I pick up the brayer I remember Miss Gollub unveiling each perfect print and showing us how to label it like real artists.

My mom always rocked at art. Me, not so much. I remember her loving to do all my art projects for school. She was always so creative and helped me so much!!! I remember making a Jamestown Fort out of popsicle sticks for history! It was fun!
