Biography-

The Oklahoma born but self proclaimed Texas native spent her growing up years in Denton, Texas, which is just north of Dallas. Her artistic ability was really noticed when she was nine yrs old and art lessons ensued. Obtaining a degree in Industrial Marketing, she set out in the corporate world in Dallas working for NCR Corp. Always painting or drawing things for family, it wasn’t until she moved to North Carolina in her late 20’s that her soon to be husband suggested that she should be making money with her talent.

The name Countryside Designs, Inc. came about because it covered a number of things that Tana and her husband Vance would pursue in the years to follow in the small community of Ararat, NC.. The business started out as a sign company, with hand painted signage to a semi-large greenhouse business growing poinsettias, germaniums and Easter Mums. All the while, Tana’s art and design business was growing. It s became apparent after about 12 years that something was “gonna have to give”. And so the art side of the business took over and the name changed to C.D.I.

As far as telling all that Tana does with C.D.I., most people would question that one person could do all those things, and she is asked quite often….”Is there anything you don’t do?” Well, her answer is “I don’t play a musical instrument”, but in all seriousness, the business has evolved into what it is now, learning and perfecting each skill along the way.

Murals and Faux painting are probably her most loved and she’ll tell you that she has probably painted on just about anything you can name. Sewing was also a skill that Tana learned from her Mother, Carole, and through the years has become a seamstress that has been asked to do a Hospice Home as well as entire Homes from window treatments to bedding. Framing started when her parents gave her a mat cutter years ago, and besides your typical framing, she actually takes older frames and makes them more in date with faux painting and new matting. Designing in people’s homes and businesses has evolved from all that she has done and the experience she has gained. Tana loves seeing people’s ideas and wants come to be and helping them make their home something special.
